Physical Description: Cockroaches have long flat bodies with a small head. Cokroaches have 2 pairs of wings; the outer wings act as a tough protective shell over the thinner inner wings. Their heads have small mandibles on the underside for chewing and two long antennae on top.
Cockroaches eat both human and pet foods and can emit a foul odor. They also transport microbes on their bodies that can pose a danger to human, especially when introduced to sterile environments such as hospitals and food preparation areas.
Cockroaches are very visible, but prefer to live in dark places. Often an infestation can be detected by the site of several roaches scurrying away as lights are turned on.
